Our Turducken24 Pounds of Delicious!
My son Josh and his friend (both graduates of Le Cordon Bleu) put together a Turducken for the main dish.
What is turducken?
It is a de-boned chicken stuffed with stuffing stuffed inside a duck which is stuffed with dressing, which is then stuffed inside a turkey with another layer of dressing. (southern cornbread dressing, of course)
Some turduckens are partially boned and some are totally boned. Ours was 100% meat with no bones!
The term turducken comes from the combination of tur(key), duck, and (chick)en. It is fast becoming a popular recipe for Thanksgiving. Each slice contains portions of chicken, duck, and turkey with stuffing in between the layers.
I was thrilled with how it turned out and may try to do this myself next year.
