DIY Injectable Marinade Recipes

Perfect for your holiday turkey

Some of my favorite injectable marinades:

Beer and Butter Marinade

1/2 pound butter

1/2 can beer
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Tabasco
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
Preparation:Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan over a low heat. Stir and heat until salt is dissolved and the sauce is even and runny. Keep warm (but not hot) to inject.

Beer and Broth Injection Marinade Recipe
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon finely ground pepper
salt to taste
Preparation:Melt butter in a small saucepan. Add remaining ingredients, except the salt. Mix well. Add salt until mixture has a slightly salty flavor. Allow to cool enough to work with and load into meat injector.

Spicy Brine Marinade Injection Recipe

1/2 c. water
1/2 c. lemon juice
8-12 drops Tabasco

2 tbsp. garlic juice and salt to taste or 1 1/2 tbsp. garlic salt
This is mixed until salt dissolves and injected with a marinade needle into bird before cooking. Adds great flavor and moistness to bird.

Honey Marinade Injection Recipe

1/2 cup white wine
1/2 cup honey
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

In a saucepan melt butter. Add wine, honey and cinnamon. Heat on low temperature until mixture is smooth and thin.

3/4 C. honey
1 bottle of light beer
1 tbsp salt
2 tbsp butter

In a saucepan melt butter. Add other ingredients and heat on low until mixture has thinned down. Inject some in the turkey and bast with the rest throughout the smoking process. Pour remaining over turkey once done.
